You can feel the texture. You have given me food for thought as we have a shed full of old cars and bikes waiting for some love.Better a full bottle in front of me
than a full frontal lobotomy.

Glad to help Hans
Old vehicles and old stuff in general are a 'mine field' of photographic opportunities ..... if you have a close up/macro lens then you can create double the amount of images

To right! It is amazing what is right in front of us. I was thinking long term with a series of before and after shots. That would then go into a book/album or on the wall in the shed.
My lens of choice is a Sigma 18-250 Macro HSM. It saves me getting around with a bunch of lenses and I find if I hold it steady enough I can get an acceptable (to me) picture. I also have a set of rings which rarely get an outing as opposed to the tripod which gets carried around the world everywhere but hardly ever gets used even when it should.

I looked at this and was trying to work out what to say. I liked the colours and shapes but it didn't quite seem to work - and then I read the comments, and cropping the bottom bit does make it a much stronger composition. Excellent image with the crop.
