    Ridiculously clever Alan. I'm quite enjoying your expertise with the oil filter. It appears to be done selectively and with different amounts applied to different layers. Am I in the ball park?

      Yes

      I reduce the Image Size as the 'Oil' seems to have more effect on a small file and then -

      I duplicate the layer and apply the 'Oil'

      I then gradually erase the effect on the bits I don't want the effect - in this case the eye, and to a lesser extent, some of the hair.

      Flatten and Adjust curves again as the Oil seems to lessen the contrast

        Gorgeous ..... I love that you have kept the eye 'clean' .... the oil paint effect works exceptionally well on fur
