DeGrey River in Pilbara region

This is where I spent my last night before finally heading home from my desert trip last year.

Beautiful and peaceful place to be. The water is very shallow and you can go for a stroll basically in the river. Too far inland and south for crocs so I enjoyed camping right on the river edge, a rare treat for me. The melaleuca trees seem to have a calming effect on the soul.

Thank you Isac. After the harshness of the desert landscape this was a lovey spot to set up camp and put the billy on.

Oh indeed. A quite night tinged with sadness and almost a sense of physical and mental exhaustion. But what a trip it was!


And I took the opportunity to catch up with friends on the net and gulp down my last bourbon. Had to set up about 5metres from the Lux on a tiny mound to pick up one bar for the net. Dongle wouldn't work on the ground hence the jerry can

No fishing here Greg. This river is in the inland Pilbara and dries up completely for long periods.
