Not a lot of people are fans of selective colour/colour splash .... I am ..... and red will always work well at grabbing attention.

I'm a fan too Greg. I've done quite a few of these (even wedding photos). To add a bit of a twist to the method, instead of pure B&W for the background, show just a hint of colour throughout - even use a faint duotone. Just something to play with.
