Purely subjective call of course but the second one isn't rockin' my boat at all. Can't decide whether I'm supposed to be looking at the tree or the building. The two seem to compete.
But the first image is a cracker! Great composition and subject. It's rare for powerlines to add something to an image but they certainly do here.
That's frameworthy I reckon.-----------------------------------------------------

Thanks Mick,
#2 is a statement about the contrast between the wild, randomness of Nature and the structured, legislated conformity of living in 'Civilisation'. 'The Big End of Town' controls much of our lives. We desire/need contact with Nature, but are beholden to the 'Economy' to provide us with the income to escape, at times, it's unpleasant side effects
Both elements represented in the second photo are complex and often difficult to understand.
I think Arthur Dent said it the best..
"but I found the imagery quite effective.
Jeltz: Continue...
Arthur: Well, uh, yes, interesting rhythmic devices, which seemed to counterpoint the underlying metaphor of the humanity of, of the poet's soul."
It didn't end well
But I'm glad you found #1 frameworthy
Cheers

Thanks for the explanation Alan, can see where you're coming from now and can view the image in a different light.
The a/c unit hanging out of the window of this old building is a nice touch and re-enforces the separation from nature.-----------------------------------------------------
