Tried a different crop and to, hopefully, make it appear more like Gallipoli, cloned out the surrendering German soldier. The German slumped in the trench was too difficult for me to remove so I tried to change the shape of his helmet and make it appear more Aus like. Have processed it in cooler tones to appear more night like and also in warmer tones. Have also tried to remove the shine from the statue part of the photo.

Interesting to see your PP..PP.
It does have a lifelike feel to it and I find myself drawn into the image, there's a lot of interest in it.
The warm colours seem to look most natural to me..but I was thinking it might look most effective in BW.

Think I like the warm tone too, but there's something that doesn't seem quite right with the proportions or perspective.
To me the guys in the background are not far enough away to be so small compared to Simpson and the Donkey. I may not be seeing it correctly but usually I pick something's not quite right with my first glance. Can't suggest a fix without removing them completely.Perhaps a change of scale?

I do see what you mean Greg. I would have no idea how to fix that. I honestly don't know how people sit and do this type of composites all the time - I'm frankly over this one. I'll just say I'm doing an artistic interpretation rather than reality.
