  • silhouette on silhouette

Was out at Kirra with the family today, was trying to get some surfing shots but it was early afternoon and I was shooting right in to the sun, so I thought I'd try a silhouette.
Reminds me of the karate kid.

Oh this is striking.. reminds me of the.silver surfer!
Besides the city background, watery bokeh and the action..just love the surfer's hands!
Seagull could have co-operated by being in the to left third grid (-:

Thanks, I only noticed the seagull when I got the image on to my pc, thought about removing it, but decided against it.
Probably wouldn't have re shot even if I noticed it at the time though, because it was about the 40'th attempt at trying to get a surfer framed between the two tallest buildings, and I was lying face down in the wet sand trying to get the perspective I wanted.

Good lessons here folks! Watch your background and put some thought into perspective rather than just blasting away at the subject (like I do sometimes)

Excellent image, right off the top shelf.

Great shot. I agree with the previous comments.

And wise words from Mick that I agree with too. Another lesson here is to make the best of the conditions you are offered. Use them to positive advantage, as has been done here so effectively.

My indecision is final, I think.
