  • Frozen Leaves

    Hi

Twistednoodle suggested this idea. Not sure if this was what you had in mind Kath. Yes, there were quite a few bubbles and I had to let the block melt for a few hours to expose some leaves.

Thanks. How did your experiment go?

They have come up beautifully Alan, great idea. #2 sits with me nicely possibly because of the textures on the leaves the right side up, but with the addition of the 'frosty' look it just goes so well. I can see this up on the wall

good stuff Alan. Apparently the trick with these is to freeze the leaves on the water first and add small amounts of water and refreeze it. Good project for a wet day.

That's it! I have three trays in the freezer waiting my attention. I'm going to tackle that tomorrow when I get a day off. Love these colours!! It really looks like they've been caught in a cold snap. I like both pics, but maybe #2 a little more? Nice sparkles - this would look beautiful framed. I hope mine turn out as well, I only put a few leaves in, so it will be interesting to see how they look. (I got strange looks from the family............. but they've stopped asking what I'm doing )

Thanks Jenne - yes, I reckon it could look good as a canvas in the right room

Thanks again Kath - looking forward to seeing your results. Yes, my wife is very patient too - she didn't even question why there was a camera and tripod in the en-suite . Luckily she didn't look in the freezer, as along with the leaves, there was a dead mouse.. (that's another story)

            Cheers

both offerings are exceptional Alan...what a terrific concept
Either one would look pretty sweet as a canvas.
                cheers
