  • Adding sunshine effect...

Isac, is there an action or steps to phiz up a photo, adding a sunshine effect in PS...??

  • #2
Absolutely. It would depend on what you wanted to do. I wrote a Photoshop action called "Sunset" that turns just about any landscape into a sunset scene and it's fully adjustable to get the look you want. It's HERE if you want to have a play.
You can also add a sun into a sky with a sunburst solid brush, adding a solid colour overlay and playing with the FILL and BLEND MODES.
Do you have an image in mind? If so, post it - explain what you want to do to it and I can give some ideas on how to achieve it. Happy to help.
Here's one I did with just a couple of layer adjustments. BEFORE-AFTER.

      Black Horse (Custom).jpg

Not a brilliant shot, with all the street furniture...

But I was asked to take photos of the village fore the U3A web site, which included pubs etc.

My approach was to add a blue sky to the grey blob above, and up the photo with more Whites, this generally made it smile a little...

Thanks for the actions, I will try them out...

Here's what vI would do to The Black Horse Inn. First in ACR: The shadows really needed a boost.

        Final after a Sky Replacement.

I hope this helps. It's all subjective of course. Also I would have placed the whole pub in in the centre which is sometimes against the rules but I think it would work better to highlight the pub. Do you have a link to the U3A site?
Let me know if you want the PSD file.

Thanks Isac, yes that looks really nice. Thanks for showing the setting in LR too.

I was tempted to get rid of those blessed street lamps and road signs.

They are updating the site, and want photos for that...

The pub being on one side allows the road to move around the photo..

It was one of my watering holes, but alas has been "modernised" into a glossy diner..
