Hi Ironwood, I'm up in FNQ in Cairns. We drove through Mackay to get to Surfers last June. It's a huge place. We stopped at KFC for a feed opposite some bowls club. I think that was Mackay lol. Friends used to live at Serina. Loved our trip to Surfers, we live in a beaut country.

Hello Millicat. Yes, that KFC and bowls club is on Nebo Road in Mackay.
I lived in Cairns for a while back in the '80s, it was a great place in those days, I haven't been up there for a long while now.
